What is Filebase and How do you use it?
Objective: Learn what Filebase is, how to download and use it.
So we want to develop games, and also use some nice cool-looking assets to improve our games. Being a student from GameDevHQ grants you access to some unique assets from Filebase. As we all know, there are multiple ways to get assets online, such as the Unity Asset Store.
What is Filebase ?
Filebase is an asset store to all GameDevHQ students, where you can download and use awesome assets to improve the visual quality of our games.

To narrow it down, filebase is basically a library of assets that we can download to include into our unity project! From assets to enemies, to firepower, and even environmental backgrounds such as floors, walls, and background designs. This will be the core into starting up my level design project!
Using Filebase
How can you use Filebase them ? First we signin with our account on the filebase website:
Then we simply download the version of the plugin based on which Unity version we are currently using in our project.

Go ahead and download Filebase that corresponds to our version of unity and we should have a new folder where we can import into our unity project:

Now that we have it properly setup in our project, we can simply see it active in Unity.

Now lets download an asset for us to use. I’ll start with some Scifi-Floors to add to our project.

Then we simply select what we want to import from the package, in this case I want everything.

Now all we have to do is drag our newly imported asset into our scene, and we are ready to use them.
